American Airlines flies 777-200R to Rio de Janeiro



As part of its global investment plan of US $ 2 billion in travel experience, American Airlines announced the unification of its fleet of aircraft operating on flights between the United States and Rio de Janeiro.

Currently all flights party Rio de Janeiro to Miami and New York, will only be operated with Boeing 777-200 Retrofit with a capacity of 45 seats in Business Class and 170 in Economy Class.

Appointed by American Airlines as 777-200R, the model has been reconfigured to offer a new level of passenger comfort, redesigned interior, unique lighting and new entertainment system.

Among the novelties, it highlights the new Business Suite with individual desktop and seating of 1,95m that fully recline, with access to the corridor to facilitate movement in the cabin. Each seat also come with AC universal outlets and USB ports, Bose headphones for use on board, touchscreen monitors of 16 inches, up to 250 movies, 180 TV shows and over 350 audio selections. 

The main cabin also has AC universal outlets and USB ports in every seat and the same variety of movies, TV shows and Business of the audio channels. In economy class, American also offers the option of seat Main Cabin Extra, up to 15 cm more space to stretch your legs.

According to Dilson Verçosa Jr., regional director of Sales for American Airlines, the measure is part of an overhaul that the company is promoting in terms of service, technology and fleet, started after the completion of the merger with US Airways. "We are already the company with the largest number of flights between the United States and Brazil and now our focus is to further improve our services," says the executive.
