Delta Air Lines cancels flights to Brasilia Decline in demand combined with high dollar became unattractive route




Due to the recent surge in the dollar and the resulting reduction in demand, Delta Air Lines will cease to operate flights from Brasilia in February 2016.

Recently the company had notified the change of the route, which would serve Orlando from December. The uncertain situation led many passengers to cancel pro travel abroad, making it unattractive route to Brasilia.

Between December 2015 and February 2016, flights to Orlando will be operated on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays, departing from Brasilia at 23:59 and arriving at 8 am in Orlando. In the opposite direction, the flight from the United States at 23.25 and arrive in Brazil at 7:25 a.m..

At the same time, Delta seeks to expand operations from Sao Paulo to Orlando, from four flights a week to daily.

It is expected that the new frequencies beginning on February 20, 2016. The change in strategy is enhanced by better capillary Guarulhos, where because of the alliance with Gol, you can extend the reach of the route to 32 destinations in Brazil. With this, the company will expand the offer based on the increased demand.

It is expected that the route will be operated by Boeing 767-300ER aircraft, configured with 35 seats in the cabin Delta One, 32 seats in Delta Comfort and 143 seats in economy class.
