Bombardier received ANAC the turboprop type certification Q400 in the country. The model can accommodate up to 86 seats is currently the largest aircraft category and widely used in areas requiring high performance.
In July 2015, Canada and Brazil signed an MoU (Memorandum of Understanding) to promote and expand cooperation in the civil aviation area in both countries. The intention is to bring together public and private actors strategic Canada and Brazil to discuss the collaboration and cooperation in areas such as development of airports, navigation and air safety.
"Expanding our presence with commercial aircraft in the Latin American market is key to our global expansion strategy, and get the type certification of the aircraft Q400 marks an important step towards the return of Q series in the region," said Alex Glock, regional vice president of sales in Latin America and the Caribbean, Bombardier Commercial Aircraft.
Bombardier designs for the next 20 years the delivery of 1,150 units in the category 60-150 seats for Latin America and the Caribbean are expected until 2034. 450 units in the segment of the Q Series 60-100 seats, and the remaining units of the CSeries with a capacity of 100-150 seats.
The Q400 is the latest development of the family Q Series aircraft, an evolution of the de Havilland Canada Dash 8. The model has high operational flexibility and with the possibility of steep approaches and operation on unpaved runways.
