2016 balance sheet shows reduction in commercial aviation


Data released by Abear (Brazilian Association of Airline) show that the demand for domestic flights in Brazil fell again in January 2016. The decrease was 4% compared with the same period last year. This is the worst result for January on record in the series that began in October 2012. Complete, also, a series of six consecutive monthly low air demand.

The decline in demand was for the fifth time in the last six months, higher than the supply, reduced by 2.4% in January. Thus, the load factor fell by 1.41 percentage point, standing at 83.18%. some were conducted over 9 million domestic trips in the month, representing a decrease of almost 2% in the total volume. In the international market, in January the international air transport offer for Brazilian companies increased by 6.1% over the same month last year. The move has met a demand that has evolved a bit more strongly, up 7.2%.
