Air France-KLM Group announced its first annual operating profit since 2010, as a whole in 2015 was recorded an operating result of 816 million euros in 2014 to Air France recorded a loss of Euro 129 million. The value shown in the annual balance sheet of the group was higher than the estimate signed earlier this year by experts, of 706 million euros or 544 million in anticipation of Reuters.

Much of this additional profit was due to the 22% drop in the overall price of jet fuel, which followed the price drop of oil in 2015. Nevertheless Air France accounted for two points where profit could be even higher in 2015 the first was the general strike that cost him 330 million euros for the cancellation of several flights, and the terrorist attacks that Paris suffered at the end of the year, which took an estimated revenue of EUR 120 million for the last quarter.

For now it is estimated operating profit in 2016 for the Air France - KLM, and to achieve the goal unit costs will be cut by up to 1.2% over the year. Air France claims that the pressure to reduce the price of tickets in Europe is intense, largely caused by Ryanair and Easyjet, but the expectation is that the fuel maintains its low in the first half of 2016. The goal is to end the year with an operating profit of 1 billion euros.
