Bombardier cuts 7000 jobs worldwide

Bombardier announced that it will lay off about 7000 employees worldwide, and 1350 in the UK alone. The measure was taken by the manufacturer to further cut the cost with employees, the company estimates that half of the amount is still fired this year and in 2017 ends the process with the dismissal of more than half of the proposed effective.

Bombardier said that with this restructuring on staff she will save up to $ 300 million over the years. In late 2015, Bombardier recorded around 70 900 employed in all countries where it operates.

In the presentation of its balance sheet 2015 it was announced a drop of 16% in revenues from Bombardier, compared with the previous year is largely due to a drop in orders and deliveries, plus the additional cost that the CSeries program required to proceed. In October last year the Quebec government invested $ 1 billion in the CSeries project, according to Bombardier at the time, that amount would be needed to finalize the latest certification stages of the CS100 and CS300.

Hope for Bombardier is the realization of the letter of interest submitted by Air Canada to buy up to 75 CS300, which would result in an additional $ 3.8 billion to the company's cash and a boost to the sales program CSeries.
