The Norwegian received its first Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner, which will join the current fleet of 8787-8 in operation. The aircraft was leased through an agreement with MG Aviation. The new Boeing will be used on several routes to North America, South America and Southeast Asia.
"The 787-9 Dreamliner will offer for Norwegian unrivaled operational advantages with a major improvement in fuel efficiency and lower costs." Said Bjorn Kjos, CEO of Norwegian.
The 787-9 is about six meters longer in length compared to the 787-8. This provides greater passenger capacity for high demand routes and cost 20% lower when compared to the previous generation.
The Norwegian is a modal with company Low Cost serving over 130 destinations across Europe ,North Africa , Middle East , USA and Southeast Asia , with a fleet that includes 90 Boeing 737-800 NG-eight 787-8.
