Ed Force One - Airplane Iron Maiden is involved in an accident in Chile


The accident occurred on Saturday in Comodoro Arturo Merino Benítez International Airport in Santiago, capital of Chile. It damaged one engine Ed Force One Boeing 747-400 of Maiden. 
The air was being towed to refuel before flight to Cordoba, while the pin, a part of the mechanism which connects the aircraft with a tractor, broke . When turning the aircraft without direction, collided with the tug.

After this two aircraft collision engines were damaged. Ed Force One, piloted by lead singer of the English band, Bruce Dickinson, will remain at the airport until their repairs will be carried out. 
Flight engineers are on site and assessing the damage, but the initial report is that the engines suffered major damage and require a long period of maintenance and possibly two new engines.

In a statement, the Civil Aviation General Directorate -DGAC- confirmed that "the aircraft was not carrying passengers," adding that "the tractor operator was injured but was immediately taken to the airport's Emergency Care Center. " 
Also will have an investigation by the Department of Accident Prevention.
