TAM decided to cease operations in two destinations that currently it operates, the first to be affected will be São José dos Campos, state of São Paulo, from 1 June. Besides SJC, TAM will close the Juazeiro base, located in Ceara, from August 1.
These measures are part of various adjustments that TAM is making in its domestic and international route network to readjust the demand, and try to return to the operating results that had prior to the current economic crisis. Only in 2015 the company held a 2.5% reduction in the number of domestic flights.
To work around the inconvenience to passengers, TAM will be writing to relocate to other flights or offer the return of money paid. For employees, TAM studies measure relocate to other activities if possible even with the city of change.
