The Spanish company, Volotea, celebrated the arrival of its first Airbus A319 with an inaugural flight between Toulouse and Nantes, which was followed by a visit to the Airbus factory.
The aircraft is the first of four Airbus A319s that the airline will receive in 2016, confirming the decision to become an operator of Airbus. With the arrival of new aircraft, scheduled for the next 12 months, the fleet Volotea will consist of 23 aircraft, including 19 Boeing 717 and 4 Airbus A319.
The new aircraft will carry more passengers - 150 in comparison with the current Boeing 717 125- capacity made possible by the internal configuration of the aircraft renewed, passed during the summer 2015, and through use of slim-line seats. The new fleet will also allow the operation of longer flights.
