Airbus made a change in the reverse of the A350XWB, according to the manufacturer has corrected a fault in the drive system, which compromised the lock actuator it. The discovery of this failure occurred through an aircraft in service that suffered from this problem, the operator immediately notified the EASA (European Aviation Security) to proceed in the investigation and solution of the problem.
According to EASA the problem would be found in reverser lock actuation system, which could eventually release the fairing without a command carried in the cabin. The defect found in the part would be excessive contamination from its carbon powder disk that forms part of the mechanical assembly of the part. According to EASA it affects the actuator retention capacity of two mechanical lines, and the third was not affected, being of a different design.
Already been warned of the problem, Airbus released a software update for the A350XWB the operators in that warns the aircraft system to not consider the fault and block the reverse command when in flight. Meanwhile, the manufacturer will consider a final solution of the problem, which has been previously presented and meets the new standard imposed by EASA, and after testing will compose a pack update for all aircraft that can log the issue through this current system .
