Etihad Airways reported that its A380 fleet recorded a next operational reliability of 99.80% between January and December 2015. This is the highest level ever recorded by an airline for this parameter comparison, considering it is the first year of the A380 operations for the company.
The operational reliability for the A380 Etihad Airways' means that only 0.2% of flights were delayed, with no cancellations.
The successful entry of the A380 into service sets a new standard for excellence that we are striving to repeat, with the introduction the A350 in the fleet of Etihad Airways in early 2018, "said Jeff Wilkinson, senior Vice President of Etihad Airways.
Jeff Wilkinson added, "This unmatched operational performance in the first year of operation the A380 has become possible due to the outstanding work team, the constant effort to service improvements and futuristic vision operation. We created a precedent in the operational excellence of the A380. "
In response to this achievement, Airbus granted to Etihad better performance status and operational reliability in the first year of operation of the A380.
The first A380 Etihad Airways made its debut on the popular route from London (Heathrow) to Abu Dhabi in December 2014. The company currently has six A380s in its fleet, with more than four scheduled for delivery.
