BR Distribuidora tank explodes and kills two workers in Victoria

An explosion in a fuel tank located in an area managed by BR Distribuidora inside the unit of Vale, in Vitória (ES), killed two contract workers, on Thursday: Rubens Pereira dos Santos, 43, and Ademilton Florencio Burini, 35. The accident occurred around 10 am this Wednesday, the 2nd newspaper report OGlobo.

Another service provider and three subsidiary of Petrobras employees were injured. Workers doing were preventive maintenance of the fuel oil pipe Victory station boiler feed tank. The four injured were taken to the Victoria Apart Hospital in the city of Serra, in the metropolitan area, received care and were released then.

The explosion causes will be cleared by an internal committee opened by BR Distribuidora. In a statement, the company regretted the incident and said it is collaborating with the service provider to support the families of the victims.
