The BH Airport, concessionaire of the International Airport of Belo Horizonte, obtained the release of Terminal Installation License 2 at Copam (Environmental Policy Council), the State of Minas Gerais.
From the license publication in the Official Gazette of the State shall be immediately initiated the construction works of the new terminal, the main short-term project of the concessionaire, which will increase the airport's capacity to 22 million passengers / year. The forecast that demand will already be achieved in 2023, while work will be completed in 2016.
The concessionaire will invest R $ 750 million in the new deployment passenger terminal, which will have a total area of approximately 47,000 m², spread over four floors. The construction method uses the metal structure in steel, internal and external coating with thermo-acoustic insulation and a large glass skin area with thermo-acoustic performance. The project also provides for the interconnection of the new Terminal 2 to the current Terminal 1.
The new terminal will have 17 new boarding bridges, which will increase the total number of bridges on the airport to 26. For convenience in transportation of passengers and users, will be installed six crawlers, nine escalators and 18 elevators.
Will be opened over 1800 parking spaces next to Terminal 2, with easy access to the road system. In addition to the Terminal 2, the concessionaire BH Airport will expand the aircraft yard in about 29,000 m² and readjust the hits aircraft.
