The Cadillac will be the first brand to launch a vehicle with V2V system, according to its CEO, Johan de Nysschen said, the automotive event JD Power Automotive Marketing, production of the CTS 2017. As the name ("vehicle-to-vehicle" or "vehicle to vehicle") says, V2V basically allows cars to "talk" to each other. This is a step forward towards increasingly autonomous cars.
The system works by connecting car via Wi-Fi so that traffic information is shared. To explain, Nysschen presented a hypothetical situation where the Cadillac was behind a truck: With V2V, both could communicate and images from digital cameras truck front would be transmitted to the car.
"Essentially, you look through the truck with X-ray eyes," joked Nysschen. "This would allow you and your car an advanced and autonomous security system to avoid collisions even before you are aware of it."
The only controversy is that Mercedes-Benz had already revealed that its E-Class 2017 will also offer the V2V communication. That is, regardless of who first launched the two luxury brands are betting big on safety and interaction technology.
