Saab has record backlog after Brazil's contract for Gripen NG

Saab reported its results 2015 through a conference held in Stockholm, Sweden. The growth in sales was announced 16% only for the year 2015, which has only been achieved thanks to the Gripen NG project, conducted jointly with Brazil and the AEW for the United Arab Emirates.

Currently engineers in Brazil has already shown commitment in the Gripen NG project so far 53 are already working on the Saab plant in Sweden, with 25 more that will make up the first group. Meanwhile a part of Saab works in an AEW aircraft project, also known as aerial radar, based on a Bombardier Global 6000 adapted by the company at its headquarters.Saab expects to deliver the 36 Gripen NG for Brazil between 2019 and 2024, with all manufacturing and certification processes.

"After 21 years, received in the third quarter demand in Brazil," says Saab CEO Håkan Buskhe. He adds, "The big challenge is basically the transfer of technology and the construction of the two-seater model," he says, but adds: "It seems very promising:. We met all that was needed and received payments"

Altogether Saab recorded a backlog in 2015 of SKr 114 billion, about $ 13.5 billion in the current share price.
