Among the ads for FIDAE 2016, Airbus said as early as the morning of the second (28/03), which is actually the company's plans to build a long-range version of the A350, but this would take a few years to allow technology such an advance.

The new aircraft, also known as A350-900ULR, will receive an increase in MTOW (maximum takeoff weight) of 5 tonnes, will move from 275 tons from the current -900 to 280T. The fuel capacity will also grow in 24,000 liters. The new operating range estimated for the ULR is to 16120km flights without breaks, resulting in 1800KM more en route.

For that Airbus will hold several changes in aerodynamics throughout the current A350, use Trent XWB engines to update to spend, in total, 2% less fuel when compared with the current version.
