India expects to launch 25 satellites in about two years

India wants to increase its share in the space sector through the launch of up to 25 satellites between 2016 and 2017, for this they design using its main rocket, the PSLV (Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle), which is built by the Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) .

Customers for the launch start from seven countries, and the US accounts for 12 satellites to be launched, followed by Germany with 4, Canada, Algeria, Indonesia, Japan and Malaysia. India has experience in the launch area, it has placed 28 satellites into orbit from other countries between 2013 and 2015, among the main customers are England, Singapore and USA. The PSLV has launched 57 satellites from other countries in his lifetime.

Each rocket launched by Antrix Corporation generates revenues of 80.6 million euros, much higher than the cost registered for the manufacture and design of the spacecraft. The objective of India is to acquire a larger share of the market by 2020, to allow for greater investment in GSLV Mk.3 and moon design.
