The Norwegian is extremely pleased with its current fleet of Boeing 787 Dreamliner, and among the company's plans is the expansion of long-distance operations departing from Gatwick Airport. Bjorn Kjos, CEO of Norwegian, said the order will only be held if there are more slots available on the target airport expansion.

To the CEO of Norwegian, operating 50 Boeing 787 from Gatwick would help to increase the company's revenue and increase the availability of seats for passengers, since now the Norwegian is the 3rd place in annual turnover.

Currently, the Norwegian has a portfolio of orders for about 40 Boeing 787, highlighting the 29 fixed orders for the 787-9. In his fleet there is the presence of 9 B787, eight version of the aircraft -8, the lowest of them, and a version 9.

About 787-9 Kjos said, "The -9 has a lower cost of the seat and we're just looking for the lowest cost per passenger" . Despite -8 in the fleet, Kjos also said that aircraft are important to test new markets and consolidate its operation in a new route. The Norwegian also plans to use the 100 Boeing 737 and 100 A320neo MAX8 to feed long-distance travel and perform short transatlantic flights.
