TAP Portugal has signed an agreement with Airbus at the Aircraft Interiors Expo (AIX) in Hamburg, to update the cabins of its A319, A320, A321 and A330. Retrofitting the A330 will include new seats of business class with a whole new entertainment system, while the retrofit in the A320 fleet will include new seats.
"We are confident that Airbus will deliver the right update solutions with the highest quality to ensure that these aircraft continue to be the best fit for our business as well as enjoyable for passengers," said Trey Urbahn, Commercial Director TAP Portugal.
The renewal program of the cab fleet is expected to begin in the third quarter of 2016 to the A320 fleet and the 1st quarter 2017 to the A330ceo fleet. All cabin modifications will be completed by the end of 2017, with implementation at TAP Maintenance and Engineering. Meanwhile, Airbus will provide Service Bulletins (SBS) to perform engineering design, define and provide the methodology and ensure the overall integration of retrofit components for aircraft.
