Gulfstream G280 performs update

Gulfstream announced the upgrade of the avionics system of the G280 software. The system now has some improvements in performance such as reduction in approach speed, shortest distance landing and improved management performance.

The update performed in PlaneView280 platform was conducted in conjunction with Rockwell Collins, platform manufacturer, after many studies for improvement of performance data.

The update reduces approach speeds by up to 9 knots, while the landing distance increased to 725 meters, a decrease of 82 m. The performance of the flight management system has received improvements related to time and fuel, optimum and maximum flight altitude, as well as better reason and ascent rate. New features also allow automatic calculations of long-range cruising, maximum cruise speed and maximum range of speed.

The software incorporated studies related to human factors to improve flight deck interface and optimize the display format. It also paves the way for operators to activate a number of optional features, including synthetic vision, ADS-B OUT (DO-260B) and ATN-B1 (Link 2000+).

The system upgrade is free for all G280 operators through Gulfstream service centers in Savannah, Dallas, both in the US and Luton, England.
