Russian President Vladimir Putin announced the privatization of several Russian companies, among which is the airline Aeroflot, as a way to solve the economic problems facing the country. The fall in oil prices, whose taxes account for half of government revenues, plunged the country into a serious crisis, which led Putin to consider the privatization of some of the most emblematic companies in the country like Aeroflot or the oil company Rosneft, the newspaper said.

Despite this decision, Putin lays down conditions for privatization, a stock sale at bargain prices should not occur, buyers should be established in the jurisdiction of Russia and the Government will prevent outflows of assets to offshore areas. Moreover Russian President announced that the most emblematic companies remain with the controlling interest in the hand of the state. The president also called a meeting of the directors of Aeroflot, Rosneft and VTB.

Recently, the Russian state company took 75% of Transaero, its biggest rival in the domestic market, the symbolic price of 1 ruble.
