FIDAE 2016 - Lockheed F-22 arrived this Sunday in Chile


Arrived in Chile, in the afternoon of Sunday (27/03), the Lockheed F-22 Raptor fighter jets that will promote military part of Lockheed for the Latin American market, the aircraft will be on display throughout the week of 29 March to April 3. It is expected that the F-22 to perform various presentations demonstrating avoidance capability and defense of the airspace during this period.

To make the transfer from the United States to Chile fighters were accompanied by a tanker aircraft KC-10, a modified and military version of the DC10, the flight lasted a total of 18 hours and 25 minutes. Upon arriving at the Santiago International Airport the USAF military were received by Colonel Aviator Fernando Silva, Executive Director of FIDAE. The aircraft are close to the Second Brigade of the Chilean Air Force.

The Lockheed F-22 has performed at other times during the history of FIDAE in 2010 a pair of F-22 performed a flyby that can be seen in the video below, this year the FIDAE was held from 23 to 28 March .
