Avianca Brazil releases electronics use throughout the flight



Avianca Brazil announced that it has been approved and received authorization from the National Civil Aviation Agency (ANAC) to release the use of portable electronic devices such as mobile phones,tablets and MP3 players , on board its aircraft, in "airplane". The news will come into force tomorrow and will cover all stages of flight.

The company said that customers will be notified by the Commissioners on the release and receive guidance regarding the safety procedures to be followed. For example, during takeoffs and landings, power cables and apparatus of headphones may not be plugged into sockets or USB ports of the chairs, so that emergency exits remain always free. In addition, larger devices such as laptops , need to be stored in the upper roof racks or in the pockets of the seats ahead in these stages of the journey.

The mode "airplane" is a setting that disables the connection to the wireless network, wi-fi, FM radio and Bluetooth portable devices in order to prevent causing electromagnetic interference in an aircraft systems. Avianca Brazil reported that the use of the equipment in this mode will be released gradually during the month of April, all 41 aircraft in its fleet.
