The delegate of the 2nd sectional Sul de São Paulo, Jorge Carlos Carrasco, said on the afternoon of Tuesday the painter Jorge Luis Morais de Oliveira confessed to strangling six people - five women and one man - and buried the bodies at his home. Three women and a man, Carlos Alves de Matos Junior, 21, have been recognized by Oliveira in photographs, according to Carrasco. Two other women and a seventh victim found in the residence, the implementation of which the painter did not assume, still await identification.
According to the delegate, Oliveira said in testimony he shared drugs with women and killed them for fear of gangs operating in Favela Alba. He said he acted alone. "The alleged motivation for the suspect is lackluster, so we need to investigate to understand the real reason the killings," said Carrasco. As for Junior, the painter claimed to have him killed in self-defense, which did not convince the police.
All crimes occurred from January 2015. The police did not rule out that the victims were dismembered by the killer, given the situation of the bodies found in the residence. Police said the 35 DP, which covers the region of Alba Favela, recorded over thirty disappearances in the period and will now investigate whether these cases are related to the murders confessed by the painter.
